Two generations of Canadian songcraft meet on Matinee To-day. Greg Keelor and Jimmy Bowskill trade vocals and intertwine acoustic guitars across a collection of timeless country and folk songs — material by Willie P. Bennett, Bob Dylan, Gene Clark, Townes Van Zandt and Bruce Cockburn, traditional ballads, and a Keelor original. Produced by Keelor, Bowskill and James McKenty, the album was recorded at Lost Cause, Keelor's farmhouse studio in the rolling Ontario countryside. The result is intimate and immediate — a private performance that found its way to tape. Two friends, two guitars, and the enduring power of a well-told song.
Out November 13 on Lost Cause, distributed by ADA Canada.
